Mariana celebrated her baptism on August 1, 2010. She was baptized at Nativity Church in Menlo Park along with her cousin Carolina Casper. The reception took place at our home in Menlo Park. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. Here we are at the church waiting for my mom to drop off their the baptismal gowns. The two girls wore the gowns that Rose, Al, and I wore as babies when we were baptized.

Mariana and Carolina were baptized by Deacon Dominik Peloso. Three other babies were baptized on the same day.
At 4 PM guests started arriving for the reception. Food and drink were Spanish theme and decor was whimsical - pink hydrangeas in black and white striped vases. Paella and steak sizzled on the grill, lots of sangria was poured, and the godparents threw coins for all the children to collect (Filipino custom). Mariana and Carolina changed into party dresses and Mariana even wore shoes with her name and birthday on it (given to us as a gift). The babies also had beautiful gelato ice cream cakes with their names on them. Mmmm they were so good!
